As more and more reports and testimonials come out regarding CBD and its effects on a myriad of conditions, some people may begin dismissing the claims, believing that no compound can truly do all that CBD is claimed to do. The human body produces its own cannabinoids (endogenous or endocannabinoids) using fatty acids, but the same receptors bind to compounds found in cannabis. Cannabidiol (CBD) interacts indirectly with these cell receptors, and others such as seotonin and dopamine. The result is that CBD influences brain activity with the byproduct of releasing serotonin and dopamine through the body.
